Job Post: Electrician

Zululand Anthracite Colliery would like to recruit an Electrician to be based at the Maye B section.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • N2 (Maths)

  • Recognized Trade Test

  • Wireman’s License will be an advantage

  • 3-5 years 11KV substation maintenance experience

  • Repairs and re-gassing of SF6 11KV breakers

  • Fault finding and repairs to electronic sirens, flash lights, and Deco’s ex.

  • Driver’s License (Code 8/EB)

Advantageous:

  • Be in possession of a gas testing and flameproof certificate

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To do Installation and commissioning of Underground substations, Battery Bays, Conveyor belt systems to ensure the smooth running of underground operations.

  • Repairs off u/g FLP switch gear interiors

  • Repairs and re-gassing of SF6 11KV breakers

  • To perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to reduce downtime.

  • Conduct standby duties.

  • To do installation and commissioning of underground sub-stations

  • Repairs and re-gassing of SF6 11 KV breakers

  • Do fault-finding on sub-station safety devices (Nerm, GCM’s, Protection relays ex.)

  • To perform maintenance and switching in medium voltage substations in order to sustain electricity supply.

  • To do fault-finding and repairs on surface & underground mining equipment/machinery to maintain production.
