Job Post: Fitter

Zululand Anthracite Colliery would like to recruit a Fitter to be based at the Outcrop and Mngeni sections.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Grade 12 or N3 (Maths)

  • Recognized Trade Test as a Fitter / Diesel fitter

  • 2- 3 years underground maintenance experience

  • Maintenance and repairs of conveyor belts, Scoops, roof bolt machine & feeder breaker

  • Driver’s License (Code 8/EB)

ADVANTAGEOUS:

  • Code 10 driver’s license

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To do scheduled preventative maintenance on production machinery to reduce breakdowns.

  • To do scheduled preventative maintenance on conveyors to prevent breakdowns on conveyors.

  • To do repairs on belt drives, tail ends and transfer points to minimize breakdowns and to meet production targets.

  • To ensure that enough spares are available in the hydraulic store for machine repairs to lessen downtime.

  • To rebuild machines and equipment for reuse in production.

  • To monitor the oil cascading process to ensure environmental control and oil recycling purposes.
