Job Post: HR Officer
Zululand Anthracite Colliery would like to recruit an HR Officer to be based at the mine’s main offices.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum educational level – Human Resources Degree / Diploma
Medical Certificate of Fitness
English proficiency
High Level Micro Soft Office Package Proficiency
Minimum of 3 years’ experience within general human resources field
Driver’s license
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster teamwork:
Reasonable knowledge of relevant labour legislation;

Develop & coach people:
Discus with management and employees how employees’ performance compares with expectations and address deviations;
Guide and assist management during the disciplinary hearings and proceedings;

Provide employees with opportunities for trying out new ideas and techniques in achieving their development goals;
Prepare and execute fair and objective performance discussions, which are backed up with evidence; and provides employees clear and honest feedback;
Seeks to inspire and challenge their team to continually improve their outcomes and motivates them to greater achievements.
Perform technical & functional skills:
Analyses technical problems and proposes solutions that engages people, reduces costs, improves efficiency/productivity, and/or enhances safety, health and environment efforts;
Effective and timeous recruitment of staff members in accordance with the existing recruitment procedures;
Efficiently uses information, resources and communication technologies in performing duties;

Carry out job related technical skills
HR Management:
Coordinate and communicate the human resources plan with the training team;
Manage human resources interventions;
Optimize human resources performance;
Investigate and rectify sub-standard human resources performance including disciplinary enquiries and grievances.
Coordinating the orientation of new employees
Assist Line Management with human resources interventions;
Ensure the optimal and efficient use of human and financial resources;
Ensure correct procedures are followed in addressing medical incapacity in the area of responsibility;
Order human resources related spares, components and stationery.
HR Maintenance:
Review, revise and implement human resources plans;
Over-inspect human resources intervention processes;
Review, revise and implement human resources databases;
HR Reporting:
Analyze and interpret HR reports and take corrective actions as required
Complete HR reports
