Job Post: Underground HT & Switchgear Electrician

GRADE: C - LEVEL

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of N3 (Math’s)

  • Recognized Trade Test

  • HT/Switchgear courses

  • Minimum of 10 years underground machine/equipment repairs & maintenance experience (Post Apprentice)

  • Minimum of 5 years underground HT & Switchgear experience repairs and maintenance (Post Apprentice)

  • Driver’s License (Code 8/EB)

  • Be in possession of a gas testing and flameproof certificate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To do faultfinding and repairs on surface & underground mining equipment/machinery to maintain production

  • To conduct maintenance and repairs on HT systems and associated switchgear.

  • To conduct maintenance and repairs to Underground flameproof switchgear.

  • To ensure the safe operation of underground electrical systems.

  • To do Installation and commissioning of Underground substations, VFD drives, Conveyor belt systems, (soft starts) to ensure the smooth running of underground

  • Conduct standby duties.

KNOWLEDGE:
